  • I joined IC Mask Design straight out of my BEng in Electronic Eng. I had originally intended to pursue my BEng (hons) but after I noticed the position of graduate layout engineer I decided to apply. I was surrounded by a highly experienced, skilled and motivated group of senior engineers always willing to help me with any issue I encountered and providing guidance every step of the way endowing me with the knowledge and skill set required to overcome any issue or challenge I encountered in the world of physical design. In essence I was learning while also being an effective member of the engineering team. IC Mask Design encouraged me to return to further my education on a part time basis (something which was quite important to me) providing financial support and flexibility allowing me to maintain a healthy balance between my work, college and personal life.  Considering all of the above which all stemmed from that initial opportunity they gave me I owe them a serious debt of gratitude and would implore any graduate seeking a rewarding challenge with an interest in the field of IC design to apply.”

  • “As a graduate I believe IC Mask Design was the perfect company for me to begin my career in the semiconductor industry. I received mentorship from the experts in the field of IC layout, who specialize in delivering professional training to many eminent companies, which enabled me to become a competent engineer over a relatively short period of time. I also gained valuable experience, having worked with many companies, and different technologies, during my time with the company. This exposure provided me with a solid understanding of the industry and appreciation for my line of work, which motivated me to pursue a part-time master’s degree in IC design. This was strongly encouraged and supported by the company’s leadership. Overall, I am very grateful to IC Mask Design for the opportunities and personal growth that it provided me with, and I would highly recommend this company to any graduate looking for a challenging and engaging role.”

Ever wondered why you should consider a career in Layout? Watch this quick video to see why!

We are not a traditional semiconductor company. The value in our company, is not in the silicon we help design for our customers, but in the team that help design it! Over the last 18 months, we have experienced significant growth in the demand for our services and have been really lucky in managing to grow our team, with brilliant engineers from around the globe, to help service that demand. But we want to continue to grow and are still looking to hire experienced Analog Layout engineers across all office locations (Ireland, Cambridge/UK & Milan/Italy).

The successful candidates will report to the Engineering Director and Layout Manager; the position requires >3 years IC Layout Design experience in full custom Analog layout.

The role requires close customer interaction on the technical deployment of complex Analog, mixed signal, and RF projects, to schedule, and on technologies down to 3nm. Collaboration on complex physical design projects is also required.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of:

· Physical design on numerous technologies across multiple device geometries. Knowledge and experience of FinFET nodes is an advantage, but not essential.

· Multiple EDA design environments and tools or display the ability to adapt to new design flows, processes, and EDA tools.

· A minimum Degree level qualification in Electronic Engineering or related discipline is essential.

Fluent English is also a requirement. Please include a curriculum vitae and cover letter with your application.
