IC Mask Design Delighted to Announce the Opening of their new UK Design Centre

IC Mask Design is delighted to announce they are opening a new centre in Cambridge, UK. Fergal Brosnan CEO of IC Mask Design explains that the reason behind the opening is part of a larger expansion plan:

“Over the last three years, we have grown our team and revenue by 75%. Our strategy has been to develop long-term partnerships with leading organisations. Our particular focus has been on customers designing on FinFET technologies, or organisations who are looking to move their designs to lower geometry nodes and want support in understanding and overcoming the challenges that they face. As technologies shrink, the layout of IC’s has become a critical element in the design process, and our expertise in these areas helps customers reduce risk. To allow us to support our customers with a team of highly experienced and knowledgeable engineers, we have chosen to locate engineering offices in key locations to provide this support. These are the reasons behind our decisions to expand in Milan, Italy, and Cambridge, UK. We now operate four design centres.” Fergal Brosnan, CEO.

In what areas do you see the company expanding in the future?

“The future of silicon chips is everywhere, with many non-traditional companies like Facebook, Amazon, and Google now moving to develop their own silicon chips. There has also been significant investment in geographical locations, like Israel, where many leading semiconductor companies see this location as a cornerstone for their chip development. In the previous 12 months, we have seen an increase of 20% in our revenue from Israel, and we see this growing further in the coming years.
With chips becoming more and more complex, our customers are seeking partners that can add value to their design process, reduce risk, and ultimately cost. This is where we see the future of IC Mask Design.”

What are your views on expansion, growth, and reaching into new markets?

“Our current expansion plans will continue into 2022 where we will look to grow our existing design centres and we will also look to other potential geographical locations that would enable us to service our broadening customer base. Semiconductors are a backbone for emerging technologies, opening new markets that didn’t previously exist. We foresee us engaging with a broader spectrum of customers who are looking to leverage the expertise that we provide.”
